• If your Nexus 7 becomes unresponsive or doesn't perform as expected, you can perform a hard reset to return it to the factory default state.

Please note that all of your data, downloaded apps and settings will be erased during the reset. Ensure that any photos, music, documents or other data that you wish to keep is backed up somewhere else, other than on the device itself.
  • 1. Before resetting the device, turn it off and then back on again. This may resolve some issues.
  • 2. Press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons.
  • 3. Scroll to Recovery mode by pressing the Volume down/Volume up buttons.
  • 4. If this screen is shown, press the Power and Volume down button together.
  • 5. Scroll to Wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume down button and select by pressing the Power button.
  • 6. Scroll to Yes -- delete all user data button and select by pressing the Power button.
  • 7. The device will now wipe all contents. Select Reboot system now and the Nexus 7 will now reboot and startup as if new.
