How to slowly release the steam
- IMPORTANT: This method is recommended for food with skins (such as sausages, chicken and some fruit) and foods with large liquid volume or high starch content such as porridge, soup, pasta, rice, fruit and grains, and also delicate foods such as meats and potato, which can trap air and cause the food to foam and expand which may cause hot food to splash out after the lid is removed.
Always check the User Manual for guidance on the safe use of your Pressure King Pro before you do any cooking.
Remember that you will be working with hot liquids and steam, so always ensure that all the safety requirements are fully in place before you start any cooking and please exercise care and caution as you follow the Steps in this guide.
Always wear oven gloves and an apron to protect against any splashing of hot food and steam.
Also refer to the Safety information Topics in this guide for information. - 1. Press the Cancel button to stop the Keep Warm function.
- 2.
Leave the pressure release valve in the closed position to allow pressure to release naturally, this can take 15 minutes or longer.
- 3.
Wait for the float valve to drop.
- 4.
Use oven gloves and a pair of tongs to turn the pressure release valve to the open position.
- 5.
Hold the Pressure King Pro 3L by the base unit handles and give a few gentle shakes to release any residual steam.
- 6.
Twist the top handle clockwise and remove the lid.
If the lid does not open, wait a few more minutes and try again. NEVER try to force the lid off as a locked lid is a sign that the unit still has some pressure.
